Schroeder Announces Grant to Acquire Land and Encourage Open Space Conservation
HARRISBURG – Rep. Meghan Schroeder (R-Bucks) today announced that Bucks County has received a $250,000 Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) grant for the Shenandoah Woods Acquisition project in Warminster Township.

“Returning this land to a safe condition, decontaminated and protected open space, is a great investment for our community,” Schroeder said. “Sadly, contamination of the land has left it uninhabitable and a magnet for vandalism, and I am confident this project is a step in the right direction of reversing that damage.

The project involves using the grant funds to acquire the Shenandoah Woods site in Warminster Township. Once fully acquired, the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority intends to build a public park on the land to enhance the Warminster Community Park, which is currently adjacent to the project site.

Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP) are funded by the CFA and involve development, rehabilitation and improvements to public parks, recreation areas, greenways, trails and river conservation.
