WARMINSTER – Rep. Meghan Schroeder (R-Bucks) announced that the Warwick Township Water and Sewer Authority will receive a Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) grant to address water contamination in Bucks County.

“We are grateful for the Warwick Township Water and Sewer Authority’s effort to obtain the funds for the residents to have local water concerns addressed. They continue to do incredible work for our community,” Schroeder said.

The project involves the installation of approximately 1.800 linear feet of water main and fire hydrants for fire protection along Old York Road. The proposed project will provide a long-term potable water supply for a number of existing properties and allow the authority the flexibility to service additional properties in the future.

“I applaud the efforts of Warwick Township Water and Sewer Authority in applying for and receiving state funding to complete a project that will address contamination in the public water supply along Old York Road. This critical funding will help provide residents with safe water that is free of any potential contamination. I was proud to work with Representative Schroeder in securing this $200,000 grant from the Commonwealth; this vital funding is just another example of how we can work together to better the residents of our community.” Tomlinson said.

“Water contamination is an issue we take very seriously. I am thrilled to know that Sen. Tomlinson and Rep. Schroeder are more than willing to work alongside of us to address this and any further issues regarding safety of our water for our residents,” said Mike Sullivan, executive director of Warwick Township Water and Sewer Authority.

The H20 PA program, administered by the CFA, provides single-year and multi-year grants for the construction of drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer projects; the construction or renovation of flood control projects; and the repair or rehabilitation of high-hazard unsafe dams.
