WARMINSTER – Rep. Meghan Schroeder (R-Bucks) announced two school districts have received a School Safety and Security grant to develop and enhance protections of students.
“Protecting our students is so important to me and I am pleased that our school districts have been granted extra funds to continue this effort to keep our children safe,” Schroeder said. “With grants such as these, our schools are becoming better equipped to prevent situations from happening rather than having to react after the fact.”
Centennial School District and Central Bucks School District have each been awarded $45,000 to improve school safety and security within the school districts.
The grants awarded will fund the following categories:
• Centennial School District – Training, violence prevention, counseling, behavioral health screenings and trauma support services.
• Central Bucks School District – Safety assessments, conflict resolution and school police officer training.
The School Safety and Security Committee acted on 524 applications requesting more than $53 million in state School Safety and Security Grant Program funds to support these school safety and security grants.
